Better Light Outside, Power Where Needed Inside
Tim called Touchstone Electric for two practical upgrades at his Piedmont home: a new outdoor light fixture and an added indoor outlet. Outdoor lighting helps with visibility near entries and walkways, while a new receptacle can stop a room from depending on extension cords or overloaded power strips. If you need similar help, our lighting electricians and outlet and switch team can check the wiring before new devices are installed.
- Outdoor light fixture installed for safer visibility
- Indoor outlet added where the homeowner needed power
- Device wiring and support checked before completion
- Customer noted quick work and confidence in the result
The original review said Tyler Harris did the job quickly and gave Tim confidence that the work was done right.

Outdoor fixtures and new outlets both need the right box and connections
A new light or receptacle is only as safe as the wiring behind it. Outdoor lighting has to handle weather, and indoor outlets have to be mounted, grounded, and connected correctly. NEC 110.14 covers electrical connections and terminations, and NEC 314 covers boxes and enclosures. In plain language, the wire connections need to stay tight and protected inside the right box. If an existing device is loose, scorched, or unreliable, the visit may also point to electrical repair and troubleshooting.
A small upgrade still deserves a real electrical check. For outdoor lighting, we look at the box, fixture rating, weather exposure, switching, and wire condition. For a new outlet, we check the circuit path, device location, box support, grounding, and whether the circuit is already carrying too much.
Tim's review focused on speed and confidence. That confidence comes from checking the parts the homeowner cannot see once the cover plate or fixture canopy is back on. Work completed by Touchstone Electric is backed by the Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty.
